The Playpark Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the Children’s Playpark on behalf of Leigh Parish Council.
- Leigh Playpark Update
The BIG move has finished thanks to the lovely, helpful people at Gregorys Landscapes and we are really pleased with the new layout. We will have to keep the park out of bounds until grass has grown through the saftey matting, otherwise the matting might move. Hopefully, it will be ready for the GRAND OPENING PARTY on the 6th APRIL.
Just in case you are wondering – the big mound is for a new slide, but have to wait a year until the earth has settled. So, that will be Phase 2. We are also fundrasing for some new equipment for toddlers and teens.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped to fund the move and to the Village Hall and Parish Council for all the support.
We are a friendly group, meeting three or four times a year to discuss the general upkeep of our Playpark. We are also trying to secure a long-term home of our Playpark as the current lease is due to expire in 2020. We would welcome any new members or helpers.
We are delighted that the Village Hall Committee and Trustees are allowing us to rent the Wildflower Meadow at the top of the Village Hall Carpark, as a new site for the playpark. Plans are underway, and we hope it will be ready for Summer 2018.
We will submit drawings to the Village Hall Committee to show the children’s play equipment within the meadow, so all ages can enjoy this wonderful space. The existing trees and footpath will remain, and we will actively fundraise when the legal formalities have been conculded.
Thank you to all those who have supported us and especially to the Village Hall Chairman and Treasuer, Duncan Moore and Paul Orchard.
